Cree Teaching Team

At Ashmont School, we are working to create engaging educational experiences for our students in all subject areas, including in our Cree classes.  We believe in fostering the Cree language and Cree ways of knowing.  While also learning the language, the Cree program embraces a holistic approach to teaching and is based heavily on relationships. At Ashmont, we make it our goal to select best practices and academic activities that highlight Nehiyaw Pimatisowin (Cree way of Life).  We also offer opportunities for students and staff to participate in ceremonies and traditional activities. We are blessed to have various community knowledge keepers to guide us on this journey.
